Markup is a beautiful thing, and it certainly has changed over the years. What was effectively HTML1, has certainly progressed to an amazing semantic markup language, to which we can largely thank the W3C. And, what do ya know, the next thing to thank them for has come about – HTML5.
Unlike previous version of HTML, where the code was mostly a limited structure that was determined by how you made use of the class and ID elements, html5 really attempts to provide much more structure.
All of the layout can be created with semantic tags and elements that determine how you should structure, and, arguably more important, that help you structure each page. This produces code that is much more clean and readable than in previous versions of HTML, and really is something quite amazing. The new tags really require that you think about how you are structuring your page, which let’s be honest – in the end that is a great thing for us web designers and developers alike.
Only once in the history of Photoshop has Adobe released a free public beta, until now. Photoshop CS6 Beta is now available for free download from Adobe, for a limited time (the beta will eventually expire, though at the moment there doesn’t seem to be a set date for that to happen).
This is a beta release, and while Adobe says they’ve done thorough testing, there are bound to still be some bugs. To that end, make sure that if you’re working on a critical project, you’re prepared for that (and that you save often!).
During a couple days of testing, I never ran into issues with CS6, but that’s not to say you won’t. That’s just the nature of a beta product. Below, check out my thoughts on what CS6 has to offer.

When a lot of designers and creative types think about photo editing, they think Photoshop. But the truth is that Photoshop can be way over-powered for many types of photo editing. And all those options can lead to creative overload, making it impossible to get your work done in a timely manner.
That doesn’t mean you don’t need a program that’s incredibly powerful, though. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 is just that: a photo editing program that’s fantastic at photo editing and retouching, without adding in a bunch of functionality that’s more suited to design than photo editing.
Lightroom 4 adds some great functionality that was missing from previous versions. Below we’ve covered some of the best new features, which should help you decide whether Lightroom 4 is right for you (hint: if you edit photos more than just occasionally, it probably is!).
It’s 2012, and more and more sites and blogs are looking for ways to further their user’s involvement, many taking example from, perhaps, one of the more polished of these sites, Buzzfeed.com.
What makes Buzzfeed different from sites such as Digg.com, which offers users a chance to vote on articles pulled from all over the web (the recent, highest rated articles, being the ones posted on the front page), is that it provides a front-end interface through which users can post their own articles, along with a similar style system to Digg, allowing you to share your ‘reaction’ on other articles.
Buzzfeed succeeds in creating a clean user experience for submitting content to their site, and using the examples below, you can learn how to do the same with your WordPress site or blog. There are various methods that can be used, ranging from the built-in system to numerous plugins, enabling various types of user content contribution.

The collection covers a variety of themes from vintage to clean and simple.

Love that one too!
